During New York's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Marist was delighted to acknowledge designer Betsey Johnson's remarkable career, endless creativity, and dedication to students, with a Silver Needle Icon Award. In The Salon at Lincoln Center, the Marist Fashion Program produced an encore presentation of Betsey Johnson's latest show, for fashion students from Marist, as well as prospective students and alumni. Immediately following the reprise, Marist president, Dennis Murray and Fashion Program Director, Radley Cramer had the pleasure of honoring Betsey with what is only the second Silver Needle Icon Award ever bestowed. The first was given to the legendary Pauline Trigere, in 2000.
