The power of influence. What you hear can influence you deeply. I remember when I was in the army, many of my colleagues were people who loved cars. They spend their money, their attention, their efforts on cars. And progressively but surely I became more and more hooked on cars. It became a passion as well. And now looking back I thought it was such folly that I wasted money, I wasted time and energy on something like a car. But it reminds me of the power of influence.

People around you influence us greatly. Therefore I think it is very important that we would be careful who we are listening to.

In 1st Timothy chapter 4 and verse 1, the Bible says, "Now the Spirit speaks expressly, or clearly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;"

Wow! They depart from the faith because they gave heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. So the Bible tells me I've got to be careful who I'm listening to. I've got to be careful about listening to false teachings because they are very seducing. They allure, they tempt me, they appeal to me, appeal to the flesh in me.

But at the end of the day, the Bible says these are doctrines of devils. It's not of God. They may sound really nice, they may really be attractive, they may be seducing, they may sound very practical, but at the end of the day, they are doctrines of devils. They lead us not to God, they are not of God, they lead us away from the faith.

Now these are words that are spoken of the latter days and we are in the last days here. It is clearly prophesied already that in the last days, in the latter times, there'll be seducing spirits are doctrines of devils.

And my friends it reminds us that we need to be very careful. What church, what author, who is the preacher for you? Does it sound nice? Sure of course! Many things will sound nice. It may be tempting, it may be seducing, it appeals to the flesh, you like it, but be careful because if it is of the Devil, it is not of God, and it will destroy you.

So you say what is the remedy in the day that we live in? It tells us in 1st Timothy 3: 15, the verse that precedes this, that the Bible says "that you may know how you ought to behave yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth."
The church, the people of God must continue to be the pillar and ground of the Truth, to hold Truth, to teach Truth, to live Truth.

May God help us to have churches that will proclaim the Truth and denounce the lies, the doctrine of the devils. God bless.
