In January 2012 Asaf Avidan randomly came to know from Facebook the existence of a remix of his "One Day / Reckoning Song" that was having a huge success all over the web. That day has been a pretty lucky day for the Israeli singer, the day he met Wankelmut: the little boy that transformed his song with an electro and alternative style and gave him worldwide fame and success.
Wankelmut's name is Jacob Dilßner, he is 25 years old, he is born and lives in Berlin and studied Philosophy. Just few know that (der) Wankelmut, in German, means "indecision", "confusion". (Der) "Mut" means "heart", and the verb "wankeln" means "stagger". Maybe Wankelmut wants to be limping, unstable, he doesn't want to be caught. He wants to play with our ears, crossing thoughts and keys without stopping himself in one place.
Back in 2011 he travelled in the US and heard, by chance, the acoustic version of "Reckoning Song" by Israeli singer and composer Asaf Avidan & the Mojos. "Reckoning Song" was released in 2008. Wankelmut uploaded on the Web his personal version in 2011 winter: "One Day / Reckoning Song" (Wankelmut Remix). Since that moment on and all throughout 2012 was a climax of views and contacts. It has been Wankelmut Remix that brought Asaf Avidan -- 4 years later -- to worldwide success and to top chart positions all over Europe.
Wankelmut, the little guy with icy eyes, became one of the most well known and appreciated DJs nowadays. Whatever he does is in the limelight and each release is able to focuse everyone's attention. "My Head Is A Jungle" is his new, passionate and thrilling rework. The starting track is "Jungle" (2011) by talented Australian singer-songwriter Emma Louise, and her truly great ethereal and broken voice. The result is a powerful track where melody, guitars, voice and Tech-House go shoulder to shoulder. The "Must Have Tune" of this 2013.
