Quite a long, strong duration of NNE wind blew down all the way from the top of Lake Superior over the shortest days of the year '13.....and the Surfers of Lake Superior were there to enjoy them.

Air temperatures were in the single digits with the snow falling and wind chill factors well below zero. Didn't take long before a layer of ice began to encrust all those who sat in the line-up awaiting their turn. Several Friends were on hand with cameras getting their footage too. Fun to chat with so many curious new onlookers as well.

Morning session at SToNeY PoiNT was overhead on some sets, still with alot of East influence making for a top shelf challenge in the cold...avoid wipe outs....Maybe even more fun (safe) was the afternoon session enjoyed by the crew at North Lester River/a.k.a. 'the rock'. Glassy clean chilly easy fresh water lefts....lots of rides to be had....stoked big time....just watch out for rocks.

Thankyou very much Vonnie and Hunter for shooting great footage again. Thankyou to everyone who got wet, or just had fun watching Friends get frosty. Thankyou especially Mother Nature for another wonderful day with the Lake Superior Surfers.

we'll all look forward to the next time
