The Scholars: Sonja Woods

E. Ethelbert Miller series host explores the scholarship of African history with Sonja Woods is a third-year Ph.D. student in Howard University's Department of History. Her primary area of interest as an African History major is southern Africa with particular focus on South Africa. Her dissertation will examine South African refugee students at Howard University from 1977 to 1994. Ms. Woods is preparing for a career as a researcher and educator.
