Buy my music!
Ever since I did Ruins of Alph and Pokémon Tower, I've been craving doing metal arrangments of these. They are SO fun to make completely over the top and brutal! This one might be as ridiculous as I go I think though because there are parts that got out of hand. The solo I wrote ended up being weird and outside as hell but I've been studying a bit of polytonal music lately and I guess it's bleeding through. Basically what I have going on there is this extended whole toney thing around mixolydian with a few blues notes in F playing over an almost E harmonic minor feel with the notes from that tapping riff. Essentially playing on the pentatonic scales a half step up and down from the tonic. Pretty fun and weird! Give it a shot!
As you can see, I've rearranged more than this crazy atonal Pokémon track. My room's different! I finally saved up enough to upgrade my monitors to KRK VXT8's and they were WAY bigger than I imagined. I had to do some serious rearranging of my room to fit them, but I'm actually really liking this set up! I feel like mixing wise I'm in a better spot in the room than I was before. These things are INSANE and I'm still getting used to them over my old crappy M Audio AV40 monitors. Hoping to get some room treatment stuff soon once I'm not flat broke again! Haha!
It was great seeing some of you guys at PAX East! Next week is an oldie since the medley for this month is going to be a fairly recent game. :)
