The shown Dutch water innovation actively retracts waste from the top 1 meter of water of the river in whcih it is positioned. The floating arms can be positioned to close down an entire stream. The concentrated waste is transported towards the retracting device making use of the natural current. The retracting belt allows water to flow back to the river. The unique finger screen then separates larger items from the captured material to lead it to a second sorting area. Glass and metal cans an be stored seprately. Organic material is given back to the river to contribute to a healthy and thriving ecosystem. In general this sortng step reduces the required transport capacity to the landfill by 50 to 80%. Harmfull plastics are shredded and stored to accomodate pyrolysis or any other conversion proces available in the proximity of the platform. The result is a valuable oil to be used in the platform generator or electricity plant. www.skinternational.nl
