After the closure of Quidhampton,15 empty China Clay wagons were required to be moved to Burngullow Cornwall.Colas Rail were chosen to move the load and they, having used D1015 for one-off hire, hired in Western Champion to do the honours.
The first leg of the move was the 6Z52 15.55 Quidhampton Tavistock Junction run on 14 October and as it was not far from where I live I decided to go out for it.I found a good location at a crossing near Alford, about 2 miles west of Castle Cary. The train was due through Cary at 17.40 and while I was waiting the weather was bright sunshine making the conditions perfect. As the time neared the sun was sinking and had the train come at the right time I think it would have just about spot on. But 6Z52 was 25 late passing me so the video is a little dark, but still ok.
