The slingjaw wrasse has a unique feeding mechanism, which involveds "slinging out" the jaw. But that is not how the jaw protrusion really works. I reality, a well choreographed dance of bones and ligaments allows the fish you protrude its jaws 65% of the total head lenghts. This video explains how!
