after an entire show of not saying a word to the audience, trent reznor of nine inch nails slowed things down at lollapalooza '08 by giving a heartfelt speech about his gratitude towards his fans, and his past with the festival. the visuals aren't great quality, but you can hear him clearly.
transcription: "believe it or not, 17 years, 17 summers ago, we got a call from perry farrell to be a part of the first lollapalooza. and we were just kids from cleveland who had no idea what we were doing. it was a great and flattering opportunity, to be invited to play with some cool bands. and it completely blows my mind that a.) i'm still alive 17 years later. and secondly, i'm on this stage, in front of a full house, full of appreciative people, and that means the world to me. thank you so much. and i'm playing with new friends, and the best musicians in the world. so thank you guys." -trent reznor
