The Children of the Americas Dressage Invitational features riders from South and Central America, The Islands, Mexico, Canada and The United States, all brought together for a week of training and international competition. CADI is hosted by The Bear Spot Foundation for Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy. The idea behind CADI is to create a common bond among the children using their love of horses as a catalyst. On the last day of the CADI week, the FreestyleSerious Fun fundraising event takes place. Top horse and rider combinations come together to support the Foundation and to have a great time. The Bear Spot Foundation for Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy provides therapeutic services for children, adolescents and their families. The Foundation's programs address the needs of clients with affective disorders (like depression), ADD/ADHD, anorexia, bulimia and concerns related to low self-esteem, separation and loss and anxiety and phobias. The Foundation offers a unique combination of traditional psychotherapy with dressage riding and horse care. Its mission is to bring the profound and seemingly mystical quality of the horse into a directed therapeutic program.
