Christopher Hitchens
When you start double foot tapping. You know, someone really is playing a guitar.

+tuxguys Sadly not comrade; for one thing, I think Hitchens would know the difference between a semi-colon and an apostrophe.

I've never seen anyone play in circles like he does 2:18. The great ones always make it look so easy. Genius.

every single time i listen to this tears fall from my eyes ...why is that???
Matty's Jukebox
Some of the most beautiful improvisation I've ever heard, seemed like it started out as kind of like "Baby Please Don't Go" and then jumped right into that beautiful medley. I almost dropped when I saw that circular strumming on the second song. It's sad because most people don't acknowledge that Roy was an absolute master, and one of the most humble musicians. Rest In Peace, you are a legend!
Bruce Racker
The circle picking became the basis of his song, "Thank You, Lord."
Buddyboy
Totally agree. The way he plays guitar here is so beautiful and you can hear the influence he has had on others. Like you said, the circular strumming was stunning.

Its obvious that many of you who have posted comments are musicians yourselves. And praise from you means that this Man was awesome. RIP Roy !

first time i heard him i realized that i needed to stop practicing shred and other metal stuff and go back to blues, nothing against metal but i prefer a little more feeling, thanks Roy RIP genius!

Well said Kloridic IV

For me, Roy Buchanan has been a wonderful person who has never overrated himself and his musical abilities. His shy modesty still impresses me while watching the videos. An example for me.

That is some crazy playing style he has and that swirl picking is wild
