B. R. Lakin (1901-1984)

The baby boy born to to Mr. & Mrs. Richard Lakin on June 5, 1901 had been dedicated to the Lord even before he was born. He was converted at a revival meeting at the age of 18. Following his conversion, he became a Baptist preacher. He traveled by muled in the hills and mountains of West Virginia and Kentucky.

In 1939 he became associate pastor of Cadle Tabernacle, Indianapolis and later became pastor. He preached to over 5,000 on Sunday mornings.

In 1952 he entered full time evangelism and his world-wide ministry resulted in an estimated 100,000 conversions. He went home to glory on March 15, 1984 at the age of 82.
