Things I talk about in this tutorial: What is a derma roller? How to use a derma roller at home? How to clean/disinfect it? What needle size should the dermaroller be - for use on your face at home? Titanium vs surgical steel microneedle (micro needle / micro needling) skin roller? Does it hurt - is it painful?

WARNING: do not use on active acne, or even a little bit of acne! It will spread!

Please watch the whole tutorial, I tried to put as much information in the video as I could, whilst showing you how I use it on my face.

A dermaroller works by prickling your skin, and tricking it to renew skin cells by repairing itself. It is known to help with; acne scars, spot marks, scar removal, stretch marks, cellulite, wrinkles, hair loss, collagen production for more elastic skin etc.

1) How often should you use a derma roller on your face? - It depends on you really. Personally I would not use it more than once a week, just because I want to give my skin time to heal itself. If your skin is really bad in terms of scarring, then you can use it 2/3 times a week.
2) Make sure you disinfect the roller after you finish using it. Wash it with soap to get rid of any oil and dirt first, then use surgical spirit to disinfect - so it is ready for use next time.

If you are in the UK, and would like to purchase the dermaroller I use in this tutorial, please use the link above. If you are elsewhere, just make sure you pick the transparent one and not the black one.
