1954 vintage clip of a fire in the 'projects' on Scranton Ave. in Falmouth, ma. These 'projects' were built to be temporary housing for returning WWII veterans and their families. These building existed on the site of the current Harborview Housing and Admiratly Apt. from 1946 to 1957. They were demolished at that time.

In this clip, the Firefighters of the FFD attack a smoky fire in one unit. Note early use of SCBA. Also shown is L-1, a 1949 Maxim 65' 's' model Aerial ladder. L-1 was the first and only ladder on cape cod for quite a while. L-1 was a quint and ran 1st due for many years. Retired in 1971. Also seen is E-5 from East Falmouth. E-5 is a 1935 Maxim Motors pumper. E-5 served until 1964 and then went onto serve in Mashpee as E-5 until the 70's
