Location: Wembley
Event: Arsenal v Luton Town, League Cup Final
Date: 24th April 1988

Young football fans may well have heard the legend of Gus Caesar, the hapless Arsenal defender whose name brings chills to every Gunners fan from the 80's. My Arsenal-supporting mates recount stories of Arsenal substitutions being announced at Highbury "And coming on for Arsenal....number 12...Gus Caesar". This would be met by a huge collective noise from the North Bank "**GROAN**". Here is the evidence. A real collectors item. All 3 Luton goals are down to poor Gus - number 5.

1. Reacting a split-minute too late as Brian Stein buries it in the back of the net. Ah well, could try claiming for offside once he's scored? Textbook defending.
2. Falls over his own feet slicing a clearance straight into the path of Luton's attack. Danny Wilson slots home. Brilliant.
3. Marking fresh air as Brian Stein gets in behind and wins the cup in injury time. Perfect.
