In our Dell LCC Race we have tapped into the social media monitoring, and created a real-time virtual car race with it.

The interactive racing game transformed the data from the 'Listening Command Center' (Dell's social media monitoring tool) in real time into energy for virtual racing cars: Each event participant received a racing car and three keywords that were tracked by the LCC on the social web (for example: 'cloud computing', 'desktop' or 'storage'). In return, the tallied frequency of all terms gave the cars their individual acceleration.

The players were able to observe the performance via various data visualizations and exchange terms against those with 'more energy' on their personal terminal.

They experienced the LCC's mode of operation in a playful and highly entertaining way, as evidenced by the high participation rate of 75 % and visible passion for gaming on the events.
