When the 7.8 magnitude earthquake shook Nepal on 25 April, the hospital in Chautara, Sindhupalchok was devastated. WHO has worked with the Ministry of Health and Population to coordinate the deployment of foreign medical teams to provide health care to this and other severely affected areas. WHO visited a field hospital set up in Chautara by the Norwegian Red Cross, where Nepalese health workers are working side-by-side with their international counterparts to meet the health needs of the community.
