I explain how we can simplify before we multiply fractions, and also why we are allowed to do so. This is a great "trick" to learn for grades 5-6 math because then, the numerators and the denominators become smaller numbers and the multiplications become easier and faster to do.

To simplify before the multiplication, just find common factors in the numerators and the denominators
