GIB is the songwriting team of Gib Jones and Mike Samson. The two bring a folk rock style of music to life with heart felt lyrics and laid back melodies.

Gib and Mike began writing songs together when they were in the college band Root 81, while attending Radford University in Virginia. The band released its first album, "What's Inside," in 1998, and garnered a loyal fan following.

After graduation, Gib and Mike moved to Atlanta and continued to write new material while playing local venues such as Eddie's Attic. It was during this time they began collaborating with musician, Brett Lanza, who contributed on "New York City," "18 Wheels," "Dear Mr. Witherspoon," and "85." Soon the idea for an album took shape and GIB continued to record other songs, "Waiting" and "7-11 Love Song."

GIB recently released their first album, "Miles Away", on iTunes and www.facebook.com/GibsMusic. They look to license their songs to established and independent artists, as well make them available to their fans.
