What I like to take away from this scene is that Spongbob gained his power by attaining self-acceptance; realizing that he is, indeed, a kid (a goofy goober, if you will) and that there's nothing wrong with that. Further proof of this is when Spongebob begins to list other names he's been called because of his age, stage lights and fog appears triumphantly, to build up to when he finally accepts that he is a goofy goober. Shown near the end of the scene, Spongebob's guitar solo ends up destroying all of Plankton's helmets, saving Bikini Bottom's citizens. Metaphorically speaking, since we could say that this powerful guitar solo is a result of Spongebob's self-acceptance, it could also be said that his awareness of who he is and his openness about his self discovery also helped the citizens find their true selves, without being told what to think, do and feel, in this case, by Plankton's helmets. This is emphasized by the first citizen whose helmet is destroyed when he says "I'm free. I've been freed!" But that's just my opinion. Btw, thanks to @NoxFalling for inspiring this essay of sorts. :) :)
