Members of FEMEN protested in front of the Ukrainian embassy in Paris Sunday, the latest action by the group in the French capital. They were protesting the decision by Ukraine's government not to sign an association agreement with the European Union.
Around 9:40 a.m. local time (0840 GMT), five FEMEN members arrived in a taxi and undressed in front of the embassy. They then proceeded to defecate on an image of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, shouting slogans such as 'Yanukovych piss off' and 'Ukraine to the EU.'
Said FEMEN founder Inna Shevchenko: "Dictatorship in its pure form is already in Ukraine. That's why we are coming today here to pee on this face and the face who is bringing dictatorship, pure dictatorship, to Ukraine and protection and influence of Russia, of Putin. And we are giving an alarm to Europe that we need help. And no one has to hear this face, we just have to pee on his opinion."
The decision by Ukraine not to enter into an association agreement has triggered the largest protests that country has seen since the 2004 Orange Revolution.
