What's up guys, Nick from Fit college.

Want a tip, I've got one for you,' speed development'. It's actually going to be the theme of my next few videos. There are numerous ways that we can do it and my first tip is to start with a short for long approach, which is good for team sport athletes specifically.
A 'short to long approach' requires you to run at 95 to 100% of your maximum speed capacity but it asks that you start off at distances of 5 to 10 meters initially, building up over time to say 30 to 40 meters in distance. Now this is important for team sports because research has demonstrated in sports such as football that in 96 percent of Sprint's are usually performed over 30 meters or less, okay, which is actually quite significant.

So give it a go, develop these high intensity acceleration capabilities in your speed and I'll catch you next time with another tip, or of course, you could go over to our page and enrol.

I'll catch you next time
