A quick study on 2 new nodes provided with brilliant Maya plugin "SOuP" (by Peter Shipkov): Scatter node and Shatter node.
From what I understand from self-exploration, basically Scatter will scatter some points, based on its original Surface or Volume (in this case I use either PolyCube or PolySphere). This point data can then be further linked into other nodes, in this case Shatter node.
Scatter node takes the point information from Scatter node to calculate and bake it back into the geometry, in which it turns the geometry into a shattered object.
