Nothing could be a sweeter sentiment during wartime than what is expressed during this song. Simple and heartfelt. I recently read Vera Lynn's autobiography and so when I decided to record some videos for ANZAC Day I knew this one had to be in there! This is based on her original 1939 version.
And I've just gotten a ukulele, and just adored how it made this song sound. Nice change from the piano as well :)
We'll Meet Again -- Vera Lynn Let's say goodbye with a smile dear, just for a while dear, we must part Don't let this parting upset you, I won't forget you sweetheart We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when But I'm sure we'll meet again some sunny day Keep smiling through just like you always do Till the blue skies chase the dark clouds far away
And I will just say, 'hello' to the folks that you know, tell them you won't be long They'll be happy, I know, that as I saw you go you were singing this song We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when But I'm sure we'll meet again some sunny day
