WSBR Radio host, Anita Finely, interviews co-founder of social gaming site Winster, Michelle Kaplan, about the power of virtual friendships. Michelle shares compelling real life stories about how players on Winster overcame health problems from the emotional support gained from friendships developed through online gaming.

"The player stories are very heartfelt, and describe the joy and fun that takes place for strangers who became acquainted, and find special friendships. In some cases, people who were socially isolated due to circumstances, e.g. health problems, limited mobility, lived in rural areas, had discovered Winster, and were able to develop meaningful friendships with people whom they had never met in person, which they claimed to have helped save their lives.
The nice thing about Winster.com is that you have a choice of meeting people
in a positive virtual environment, and if you wish to continue to share stories and
games with them, you can do so. The main thing to remember is that you are in
control. I loved the real life stories of people who began as game partners and
wound up as real friends, meeting each other in person. Sometimes the people
were from the same hometowns and even went to the same school as youngsters. How fortunate we are to have creative business people with a heart who decided to invent something that would not only change lives of the older
population, but would also be a successful enterprise."
