The trade of music instrument making - Bouzouki -- Mandolin Joe Foley is one of Ireland's leading crafts people and as a bouzouki maker he has made instruments for some of the top players of the instrument. This programme follows Joe through the process of making a bouzouki but also through the history of the instrument with its introduction to Irish traditional music through Johnny Moynihan. We also have performances from players such as Dónal Lunny. Andy Irvine, Brendan O'Reagan, Gary Ó Briain plus many more

The "Ceird an Cheoil " music documentary series looked at the world of instrument making in Ireland. Each episode looked at a particular instrument within traditional music, revealing the various stages involved in its making but also exploring the instruments role within the traditional, both past and present.
