The great French soprano Emma Calvé (1858-1942), perhaps the most sensational singing-actress (and also the most famous Carmen) of her day, in "Belle nuit, ô nuit d'amour" (Barcarolle) from Jacques Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hoffmann, recorded in 1920 for Pathé, when the legendary diva was 62 years old.
