By The Light Of The Silvery Moon - one man a cappella barbershop multitrack (Julien Neel)

Here is a one-man a cappella barbershop render of the classic "By The Light Of The Silvery Moon" (just the chorus). The music was written by Gus Edwards, the lyrics by Edward Madden and this barbershop arrangement was made by Val Hicks. The song was published in 1909 and was one of a series of moon related Tin Pan Alley songs of the era.

This popular tune has been used in a great many television shows and motion pictures. The song was one of a number of early-20th-century songs which were used as titles of musical films made by Doris Day in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Able to sing, dance, and play comedy and dramatic roles, she became one of the biggest box-office stars in Hollywood of that era.

LYRICS (chorus):
By the light of the silvery moon,
I want to spoon,
To my honey I'll croon love's tune.
Honey moon, keep shining in June.
Your silvery beams will bring love's dreams,
We'll be cuddling soon,
By the silvery moon.
