In 2006, The Lemelson Foundation (www.lemelson.org) and Ashoka (www.ashoka.org) launched a partnership to advance invention for social good. Together, we identified and invested in over one hundred leading invention entrepreneurs from developing countries.

Tri Mumpuni is one of these outstanding individuals. Her work to scale micro-hydropower and other appropriate technology systems is providing both electricity and a source of income to hundreds of rural villages throughout Indonesia.
