Making of rubber mats for further refining in factory.
The rubber tree originally introduced to SE Asia by the Englishmen was brought to Thailand from Malaysia.
The tree is harvested from 6 yrs of planting and yields rubber sap until 25-30ys of age, after that it is cut down and sold for use in furniture, plywood etc.
One single farmer can harvest up to 100 litres in a night. The trees are cut only during night time and are like cows, they require regular "milking" otherwise they dry out. The farmer can sell the sap to the middleman or choose to spend a few extra hours after collection refining the rubber into "mats" and then selling it to the middleman/ factory for further processing.
