The Standing SUP crew takes a trip to Donner Memorial State Park at the east end of Donner Lake to do some stand up paddle boarding on the protected channel which leads to a bridge, dam and eventually Donner Creek.
A great day of paddling with the Riviera 12 6 Voyager and the Starboard 14 foot Sprint. There were few people on the water and almost no wind chop, which can be a problem at this location. We parked on the Donner Lake Water Sports lot, aka the kayak rental place and set out down the small channel to the mini island and beach at the mouth to the main lake.
The water was cold, but it was a smooth and buttery day of paddling at Donner.
