The Spark of Fire: Light the flame of motivation
How many people are there in nowadays companies that they go to work just by obligation? Surely a pretty huge percentage, but what is harder to assume is: how many workers are only physicaly in theirs jobs instead of adding value conscientiously and voluntarily?

How can we obtain the "knowledge fire" from people? Our ancestors discovered that rubbing two silex stones each other they achieved the precious spark to light fire. Maybe that had been the most important discovery in humans´ history. Nowadays the challenge for the organizations is to know how to light the flame within people to profit all their inner knowledge.

Fire´s pyramid Theory explains that four factories are necessary all together to obtain fire and going it on. In this way I show a model with four factors to obtain knowledge from the people in our companies:
1. People. Everyone has a vast flow of ideas that can be transformed in new knowledge. Wood and coal are very good combustibles but they don´t get fire by themselves. We need the other three elements for that.
2. Trust. It was impossible obtain fire in Earth up to oxygen appearance. The same way, people can´t be able to transform talent in knowledge without a trust environment. Without trust it´s not possible the combustion we are searching.
3. Attitude. The outcomes in people intensive organizations are function of the attitude. Attitude is the necessary spark to light the motivation flame in the organizations. Overall, attitude is values, principles, vision and mission. If all of these elements are not correctly defined and not everybody (bosses includes) respect them it will be impossible get the fire althought we had the best prepaired workers in our industry.
4. Communication. We can obtain a flame with the previous three elements working all together, but we need to spread this flame and keep it on lighted. We can do that using communication properly . We must understand communication as a "return trip" of information within organizations. Assertiveness, openness, empathy or to know listen to the people are some of the main tools that the companies can use to achieve and to maintain a big fire after lighting the flame through people

The quote of very known physicist S. Hawking used to name this book is a good way to express how important are people in the organizations: "All os us are different. All of us are special in our way. Each of us has got an internal spark of fire, a creative force..."
