In 2005 a community excavation took place in the town of Middlewich to locate and investigate Roman activity and remains that lay in the earth just off King Street. The project was part of the 2005 Middlewich Roman Festival and was a great success in many ways and for many reasons.
Archaeologist and Historian James Balme was commissioned to record on video the excavations as part of his wider remit to capture the forthcoming Middlewich Roman Festival. This film is a short compilation taken from the footage shot at the archaeological site during the investigations that took place.
