The muse receptor is a rackmount computer designed for using software synthesisers in a live performance or studio setting.
I decided to build a synthbox rack machine myself, making different decisions about the connections outside, and about the hardware inside.
Using a solid state harddisk, it boots windows XP in around 25 seconds, allowing you to run a wider spectrum of software, with very complex routing possibilities to any of the six analogue outputs and the possibility to code your own DSP algorithms that run on a dedicated audio co-processor.
