My father-in-law, Pfc. Roy F. Jennings, was wounded in action at Vezon, France in October, 1944, as his squad of combat scouts checked out what they thought was an abandoned town. One U.S. soldier was killed, Jennings wounded, and more than 30 Germans killed in the fighting that ensued. Jennings was later awarded two Purple Hearts and a Silver Star for his actions in France as seen in this dramatic reenactment.
