This sound was recorded by underwater microphones (hydrophones) at the CTBTO's hydroacoustic station in Cape Leeuwin in Western Australia. Can you guess what it is? See the comment below for the answer.
The CTBTO (Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization) is building & operating a global network of over 300 stations to detect the slightest sign of a nuclear explosion to verify the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT). We have released some of the sounds recorded by our hydroacoustic and infrasound stations in the run up to the 2013 meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in Boston from 14 to 18 February 2013.
