As for him standing up more, he does this in even more recent concerts and doesn't often point his mic at the audience. He just seems more stiff doesn't dance around as often. If he's not really singing, doing this would still make his singing more believable. Before I thought La Donna Mobile and O Sole Mio proved for sure he sang live (because he sings parts without the microphone), but watching some front-row videos filmed by the audience, I heard strange voices that seemed to be coming from behind the speakers. I thought it was just the audience, but I checked many performances from around the world and they still had this. The camera microphone picks up this sound more easily than what most people can hear because the speaker output is very loud - I went to one of his concerts many years ago and sat in the third row and didn't hear anything odd, except that the speakers were very loud. Here's one example of what I mean: Vitas Genève 8 Don't forgive me, O Sole mio, La Donna é Mobile (Riggoletto) , Adagio and another one from the same concert: Vitas Geneve Intro (definitely not singing the same notes) I don't doubt he can't sing well, but I would rather he sing fully live, even if that means refraining from high notes.

For many years, I thought the part you pointed out was the best proof he sang live, but as I said the quality of the audio makes it difficult to prove it is really him singing. It could just be the audience, or it could be the playback being activated faintly by the background noise (this sometimes happens - look up Vitas Impuls). Again, the differences you noticed could be due to the quality of the video, and the acapella being cleaner (no reverb of studio version). Additionally, he has re-recorded songs in the past for concerts to make them sound different but if you compare concert-to-concert they are identical (example is Soul studio version differs from Soul live in Kremlin 2002, but second verse is identical in future performances like Moscow 2003 - he now sings the first verse live).

In deed not !! This is more live than you and me!! And not att all the same!! I heard this song almost every day and is easy after a wile ear the diferences in recordings and sounds. But he is so proof that none note goes wrong!! He is astonishing!!

He is definitely lipsynching. It sounds exactly the same in every version of this song.

yes Lucia Di Lammermoor HD ---VITAS 2009 this is one of those. Still he sang that live in 2007 concerts for sure. on TV specials and stuff Vitas lipsyncs. no offense he sounds like shit when he tries to lipsync, because he tries to speak out the lyrics, so much that another "famous" Russian singer edited those recordings to claim Vitas fakes his live concerts.

@PahangDragonbird well the thing is, hes a great singer, and has a tremendous voice. and i think if i had that talent i would try to lipsync too, on occasion. but the bottom line is-he can sing and thats all that really matters
