Stop collaborate and listen, ICE is a program in which students from the YRDSB earn 6 high school credits as they live and volunteer for 14 weeks in sunny South America. They are immersed in the Spanish language and the local culture, are often "adopted" by the host family with which they live, and effectively become a member of the community. Instead of working locally, International Cooperative Education (ICE) students enjoy 1 - 2 work placements in agriculture, community development, education (teaching ESL, teaching assistant, day care), small business or social work at a location several thousand kilometres away from their Canadian home.
The guys from the ICE 2010 group were assigned a publicity assignment.
