The Subcommittee on Health Care, District of Columbia, Census, and the National Archives held a hearing entitled, "Fulfilling a Legal Duty: Triggering a Medicare Plan from the Administration," which examined the Medicare trigger put in place by Congress in 2003, the Obama Administration's decision not to submit the required legislative proposal to satisfy the law, and the overall issue of Medicare reform. Specifically, it focused on the financial state of the Medicare program and the funding warning in the Medicare Trustees report.
