Each year Yarra Trams operates hundreds of special tram services to the Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park. This video shows some of the shuttle trams leaving from Spencer Street (Southern Cross Station) and Federation Square (Flinders Street Station) and arriving at the Grand Prix tram stops on the St Kilda light rail. Attendance at the 2012 event was the highest since 2005, with 114,900 fans on Sunday contributing to a total attendance of approximately 313,000 across the four days. With very little parking at the event, Yarra Trams moved about 80 per cent of patrons to and from the track. Grand Prix ticket holders are entitled to free travel on the shuttle trams.
