Downtown West Palm Beach has it all. But one block stands out from the rest.

The 200 block of Clematis Street is a short block with frequent awnings and shade trees which make it a pleasure to walk. Parallel parking and a variety of street use (pedicabs, bicycles, segways) slow down traffic and give pedestrians a feeling of safety while walking. The 200 block scores a 98 out of 100 on Walkscore's "street smart" metric.
A trolley passes by regularly, connecting to the downtown West Palm Beach transit hub, which has connections to Tri-Rail and Amtrak. WeCar, a car share program, provides another transportation option for downtown residents.

The 200 block has a ton of history. Pioneer Linens has been operating on Clematis Street since 1929. Clematis Street News Stand prides itself as "Biggest Little Store in the World". On this single block you'll find a yoga studio, several sports bars (Bar Louie and Duffy's), restaurants (Rocco's Tacos, Grease burger bar), rental apartments (the Harris Music Lofts), and the Palm Beach Dramaworks theatre. There are several nightclubs, a pool hall, furniture store, and office space above the ground floor retail, all on this small block.

The 200 block terminates at the Waterfront Commons, a public park with views of the intracoastal waterway. The Waterfront Commons hosts the weekly event "Clematis by Night", a free concert that is well attended and has been running over 15 years, as well as the weekly year round GreenMarket.
