The Armenian Kobane

Almost a hundred years ago, as Armenians were massacred and forced on exile in a systematic program of annihilation by the Ottoman Empire, many survivors ended up in Kobane. Today, Kobane’s Kurdish population is under attack by the Islamic State. Journalist Serdar Korucu wrote an essay for the Turkish-Armenian weekly Agos in Istanbul, talking about the once-vibrant Armenian community of Kobane.
