Provent is a new treatment for people with obstructive sleep apnea -- and a safe, less cumbersome alternative to the standard continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine. FDA-approved, Provent users wear a small microvalve over their nostrils, which redirects air through small holes without the need for an air pump. Glenn Adams, MD, medical director of Sarasota Memorial's Sleep Disorders Centers, and one of his patients discuss the benefits of the new device. For information: call (941) 917-7777 or visit smh.com.
