"The politicians and intellectuals call us nationalists petty, but there are people from all over Europe who have come here today to pay respect to this outpost of our European civilization.

Here, everywhere we walk, we stand on the bones of heroes who were doing what you are doing, defending their homes and resisting occupation. So when events depress you and the collaborators tell you to doubt yourself, don't worry because you, like I, know something about history – there were times worse than this when everything was cowardice, treachery, and betrayal and great hordes and stronger armies from the south and the east looked like they were going to sweep over our Europe, and this hasn't just happened once, but this has happened many times in our history - but small bands of very brave men came together in with absolute determination that Europe must live, and more and more men came to under their flags and those hordes were thrown back.

Go out and tell your people, your teachers, your policemen, your bosses, your politicians, tell them “we are Europeans, we are descended from heroes. We are Lithuanian, we have occupied this clay since the ice age, and we will be here until the end of time. We are unconquerable and that is our god given right."
