In 2012, a group of Cossacks rode on horseback from Moscow to Paris. They were retracing the route their forefathers took from 1812 to 1814 when the fearless warriors chased Napoleon’s Great Army out of Russia and all through Europe right up to the Champs Elysees.
RTD follows the group all the way from summer camp where they first have to tame their horses to Moscow and then all the way to Fontainebleau, south of Paris. There they stage a spectacular show with the riders from the Kremlin Equestrian School in front of Napoleon’s favourite chateau, before sampling the delights of Paris proper. In the process, these big hearted romantics have to decide whether home, for a Cossack, is with his horse, or back in the steppes he came from.
