The Cabarton stretch is a ~10 mile stretch on the North Fork is the Payette River. The put in is about 8 miles south of Cascade, Idaho. On a typical summer day, the float lasts 3-4 hours, depending on stops. This is a great float for paddlers of all levels, because the rapids consist primarily of long, class II+ or Class III wave trains, followed by long stretches of calm water. The final rapid, Howard’s Plunge, is a quick and fun class III+/IV, after which the day ends in slow moving, calm waters.

On this occasion we didn’t stop for long, because it was an oddly cool summer day. While I love rafting, I haven’t had much chance to kayak this year, and this was the perfect opportunity to film my friends rafting, while practicing my ability to balance filming and kayaking.

I hope you enjoy it. Like and subscribe to support, and if have any comment, don’t hesitate to post it.
