The pain was so unbearable for an array of Aaliyah's closest friends that Timbaland was virtually absent in any Babygirl visual tribute throughout 2002 and early 2003. I take it that one glimpse of her would easily cause him to tear up badly. It hurts him so that even his once trademark sound ultimately changed as time progressed since /.\ departed. It's saddening, but genuinely shows just how loved and missed Aaliyah is. Even today, Missy & Timbaland still continue to pay homage to their fallen friend, just like months ago when Missy broke down at the 'LifeTime: Women in Music' ceremony commemorating her award to Babygirl. Deep prayers for the Haughton family and those close to them, may their hearts continue to be healed. <3

This song is so deep and beautiful. Aaliyah will always be a legend. Years can pass but the world will never forget this unique, powerful, independent and beautiful woman and artist. Her voice was a piece of heaven!! 🌹❤️ #RIPBabyGirl 🙌🏽✨

My best friend died the day before Aaliyah's eighth death anniversary back in 2009. Late August is always a hard time for me. My best friends death Anniversary on the 24th then Aaliyah's on the 25th.

I love Toni Braxton, but I get salty every time I watch this video and have been for 14 years. This is "I Miss You"...tribute to the beloved Aaliyah...not the "You're Making Me High" video.

In a few weeks it'll be 15 years. 15 years since she's passed on. I can't believe it. I remember being six years old (21 now) and seeing everyone in shock that she had passed so soon. Not long after 9/11 happened and NYC was somber for a time. But the city got better and healed. Back then as a little kid, I really didn't grasp certain things as I do now cause at the age I was it never really crossed my mind, but as I gotten wiser and older and educated myself about pop culture, music and events that forever shaped the world, it truly does have an impact on me. I will never understand her death at 22. She really put in that work the seven years she was in the spotlight. She even gave us timeless classics too. RIP Aaliyah. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
