I read an article in The Advocate about gangs of homeless gay kids called GTO (Gays Taking Over) and DTO (Dykes Taking Over)who protect other gay youths on the street and fight back against hate, bigotry and violence. This made me think: if the law has turned its' back on you and makes no effort to protect you from losing your job, your home or your kids etcetera due to your sexual orientation, do you then turn your back on the law? Or is it better to continue to try and change and increasingly steadfast system that is set against you? If we then take the law into our own hands, how are we to prevent total chaos? As there is no universal definition of right, wrong, good or bad, where then do we draw the line?
