PARADE OF NATIONS AND THE SANDS OF THE WORLD CEREMONY BRINGS TOGETHER SURFERS FROM AROUND THE GLOBE AT THE QUIKSILVER ISA WORLD JUNIOR SURFING CHAMPIONSHIP

(Salinas, Ecuador) March 28, 2009 - The world's best junior surfers from 28 nations and six continents came together today for the official Opening Ceremonies and Parade of Nations for the 2009 Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship. A diversity of flags, cultures and customs united under one banner one recognized by the International Olympic Committee for a colorful processional through the crowded streets of Salinas, Ecuador.

As the sun set over Salinas harbor thousands of enthusiastic spectators gathered to watch the teams waving their countries' flags, dancing along the waterfront Malecón, posing for pictures with the locals and belting out their nation's songs. In the Salinas City Square, the teams were received by top Ecuadorian political officials and ISA event organizers.
